Privilege leaves the room with a bot
A bot that joins the call is a third party in a privileged conversation. Clients notice it, opposing counsel objects to it, and the recording ends up on servers you do not control.

Record client meetings, negotiations and internal deliberations without a bot. Attorney-client privilege protected by architecture, not just policy.

We take your data seriously
Your meetings are no one else's business.
Caven is an AI notetaker built for law firms and in-house legal teams that cannot put privileged conversations on someone else’s servers. It records client meetings, negotiations and internal deliberations from your own desktop or phone, without a bot joining the call, and turns them into a transcript, a legal summary and action items per matter. Everything is processed in the EU, Caven can run in your own cloud or fully on-premise, and notes go straight to NetDocuments, SharePoint or OneDrive.
Caven at a glance
A bot that joins the call is a third party in a privileged conversation. Clients notice it, opposing counsel objects to it, and the recording ends up on servers you do not control.
Lawyers spend hours turning calls into attendance notes and file memos. Details from a negotiation get lost between the call and the file.
What was agreed with a client months ago lives in one associate’s notebook. When the matter changes hands, the context goes with them.

Walk into every meeting prepared, with context enriched briefings from your past meetings and connected tools.
Facts, instructions and next steps captured as an attendance note for the file.
Positions, concessions and open points per clause, with who said what.
Arguments, risks and assigned research, ready to share with the team.
Findings and follow-up questions per workstream, searchable later.
A structured record of an institutional session, kept apart from client work.
Decisions and owners, so everyone on the matter works from the same notes.
Caven records from your desktop or phone. No third-party participant, no awkward introductions and no platform lock-in.
All recordings are processed exclusively within the EU. Never used for model training, never shared with third parties.
Caven is a Belgian company with no US parent. Audio is processed on EU servers, and you can host Caven in your own cloud or on-premise.
Caven recognises the type of meeting and applies a template tailored to your industry, or one built from your own notes.
Every conversation becomes a structured record. Search your full history and ask the AI Copilot about any meeting.
Caven cloud, your own AWS, Azure or GCP, or fully on-premise. ISO 27001 certified and GDPR compliant.
Legal teams answer to their bar and their clients before any software vendor. Caven is designed so you can explain exactly where a privileged conversation goes.
How Caven processes your dataNo bot or third party joins the meeting. Recordings stay in the EU, in your own cloud tenant or on your own servers.
EU processing, a data processing agreement, and pseudonymisation of names and identifiers before transcripts reach the AI model.
Bar rules often require consent before a conversation with another lawyer is recorded. With your calendar connected, Caven can tell external attendees in advance that the meeting will be recorded, with a one-click option to object.
We document how our AI processes your data, which models are used and where, on our AI transparency page.
Caven supports your documentation; it does not replace your own legal or compliance assessment.

In most EU countries a lawyer may record a conversation they take part in, provided the client is informed and the recording is handled confidentially. Bar rules often require consent before recording a conversation with another lawyer. Caven supports this by notifying attendees in advance and keeping recordings in the EU or on your own infrastructure. Check the rules of your own bar association.
It can be, when the firm has a legal basis, informs the participants and uses a processor with proper safeguards. Caven processes recordings in the EU, signs a data processing agreement, is ISO 27001 certified and can pseudonymise names and identifiers before transcripts reach the AI model. The firm remains the controller and decides how recordings are used.
Caven never sends a bot into the call, so no third party joins the conversation. Recordings are encrypted, processed in the EU and never used to train AI models. Firms that want no external processing at all can run Caven in their own cloud or on-premise.
No. Caven records Teams, Zoom, Google Meet and Webex calls from the lawyer’s own desktop, so no bot or extra participant appears in the call. Clients and opposing counsel only see the people who were invited.
Yes. Put your phone or laptop on the table for an in-person meeting, or call from the Caven app with your own number. Online meetings in Teams, Zoom, Google Meet and Webex are recorded from your desktop.
Caven transcribes and summarises in more than 99 languages, including Dutch, French, German and English, and handles meetings where participants switch between languages.
Yes. Caven can run fully on-premise behind your own firewall, or inside your own AWS, Azure or GCP account. Smaller firms usually start on the Caven EU cloud.
